WORKSHOP: SOUND TRACK PRODUCTION FOR THE MOVING IMAGE (evaluation)

I worked with Bella Francis. We were to pick a short clip from a film or television programme and analyse the sound effects and the music. Whether or not they were diegetic or non diegetic, identifying sound bridges (sounds which link from one scene to another), synchronous sounds, whether or not they added mood and or meaning to the clip etc.
As a class we watched a few clips from various movies and analysed the sound effects and music to further understand the concept of the task. After watching 3-4 film clips we split up into our various groups.
Bella and I chose to analyse a clip from the famous action movie UNDERWORLD AWAKENING; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjcpygnnO_E

As part of the task the two categories were divided amongst us. Bella concentrated on the sound effects and I on the music. To achieve a grade we were to present our findings to the class which we had done and we received feed back and used it in the individual task that followed.

The objective of the Individual Task 2 was to analyse the spoken word, sound effects and the music. We were to analyse two clips which we own or have access to. I analysed scenes from the movie Transformers and the popular television programme burn notice. The results of this task can be found on my blog.
